The leaves may be falling, but the flowers are still blooming. While the shorter days mean many plants slow down, others, such as the chrysanthemum, are triggered to bloom by this same change. Some of our field-grown summer favorites, like zinnia and celosia, will give way to frost any day now. But not to fret - we have the ability to source American-grown flowers all year. From local growers extending their season with hoophouse protection to growers to the south and west, we plan to have fresh flowers (and lots of yummy seasonal textures) for you through Thanksgiving!
While eventually the cold weather will force me inside, for now I still have lots to do in the garden, so when the weather cooperates, that's often where I'll be. Making deliveries to fill your orders and picking up flowers from growers throughout Southern Maine and New Hampshire also take me away from the storefront. Therefore, walk-in sales remain by chance or by appointment. "By appointment" is a more formal way of saying - "text me and ask if I'm available for the time when you would like to come."
Our floral cooler remains fully stocked for your fresh flower needs! But, I also remain only one person. A little advance notice, or your luck in catching me at the right moment, will ensure I can serve you. Thank you, thank you, for choosing small & local, Slow Flowers, American-grown flowers.
