Whether you grow dahlias, or simply rejoice in their beauty, you won’t want to miss this on-farm celebration of Maine dahlias.
Erin of Orange Circle Farm, Kristen of Humble Bee Flowers and Jess of Omniflora Farm are teaming up to host an event to show how to grow, cut, design and to celebrate these wonders of the flower garden.
Are you crazy about these magnificent blooms? We are, and want to give you the behind-the-scenes look at growing and arranging dahlias. We’re looking forward to hosting you on a September afternoon so we can dive deep:
Jess will talk about growing techniques that apply to the home gardener, from purchasing locally grown tubers to pinching to pest management to harvesting.
Erin will give a tour of the flower garden, to highlight growing dahlias in the field and in a high tunnel.
Kristen will demonstrate arranging and designing with these showstoppers. Bring a favorite vase or similar vessel (pitcher, jar) with an opening between 3-6 inches. You'll choose from our lush selection of dahlias and other seasonal blooms and we'll provide the tips to help you make a stunning arrangement to take home.
Your ticket includes the event, light refreshment and dahlias to bring home and enjoy. Please bring a jar or vase (we’ll provide water) to transport your flowers. Locally made ceramic vases will also be available for purchase.
